The conversation about bullying often revolves around youngsters, but they are not the only victims. Data show that some 40 percent of US adults face harassment online in the form of name-calling, intentional embarrassment, threats, sexual harassment, and stalking. Of adults targeted in this manner, young adults are the most frequently victimized, with 65 percent reporting being subjected to such harassment. Gender also appears to influence the type of online harassment one faces, with men more likely to experience name-calling and women more likely to be targeted for sexual harassment and stalking. Dopamine receptor agonist drugs may keep symptoms of Parkinson's disease in check, but they could also have some serious behavioral consequences. Data suggest that these drugs play a role in the development of impulse control disorders like pathological gambling, hypersexuality, and compulsive shopping. Of 1,580 reports of impulse control disorder events as an adverse reaction to a drug, researchers identified 710 as being linked to dopamine agonists.

Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is a form of depression most often experienced in winter, when exposure to sunlight is limited. Although the mechanism of the disorder is not entirely understood, researchers are closing in on its causes. Data show that people with SAD have higher evening and nighttime levels of serotonin transporter (SERT) protein during the winter months than do healthy volunteers. SERT carries serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, back into nerve cells where it is not active, so these higher SERT levels could conceivably account for the "winter blues."
